isber email server information

the isber email server runs an imap v4 compliant server. pop3 access is available, but not supported or encouraged.

imap server: secure.isber.ucsb.edu

smtp server: secure.isber.ucsb.edu

ssl support: available for both imap (port 993) and smtp (port 587)


isber computer support

ISBER's computer support is limited only to computers physically connected to the ISBER local area network in north hall. The only software support provided is initial network configuration for internet and intranet access.

 

isber network support

ISBER's network support is limited to the physical connection and software setup to enable internet access on any machine connected to our campus subnet. We do not provide any support for home networking.

ISBER will provide help in designing the setup of a small office or multioffice intranet, such as suggesting how to share a printer between multiple computers or have a common folder for fileshareing. We do not, however, provide filestorage or support non-network enabled printers in a networked environment.

ISBER only provides support for applications used to access resources on the ISBER computer systems.

ISBER provides server-side support for hosted websites. We do not peform any website development.
